T-Ball Royals 2006 Season... has come to an end...

Talk about mixed emotions. Ryan and I had a long talk today about his first official season of T-Ball being over. He admitted that he enjoyed playing with his friends and that he liked the game but he was ready to move on to swimming and ice skating (HUH???)

The season started slowly with regular rainouts and rescheduled events but by the end of April and all through May, we were able to finally get games played. There were only 4 T-Ball teams in the Union City American Little League (UCALL): Royals, A's, Tigers and Mariners. As is the case with most T-Ball leagues, we had our share of kids laying on the ground, pulling grass or looking up at planes --- Ry was known for taking his glove off and putting it on his head. Taylor liked to dance in the outfield. Nathan and Dylan liked to lay down. It was funny to watch. The good thing was that it wasn't just Ryan who was doing it so I wasn't so self conscious for him.

Ry has improved soooooo much over the season. He started out not knowing how to throw or catch. He would skip (yes, skip) to bases and would often just stop to watch the ball he hit to see how far it would go. The neat thing was that at the Awards Banquet (aka the Pizza Party @ Bronco Billy's), Coach Neal and Coach Robert really praised Ry for being most improved. :) I was very proud, and so was he!

I've posted the pictures from the season starting with the Spaghetti Feed where Ry got his official Royals hat all the way through our Banquet.
