the kids were fabulous today! (well, aside from a meltdown from Ryan who didn't want to leave Stacie's house and Kaili who was so tired that she couldn't find the strength to walk out the door unassisted --- oh geez!)
all of the kids woke up in great moods around 9am. we'd had a late night playing Leap Frog Bingo and Go Fish so we went to bed late. anyway... they were sooooo accomodating! everything i asked them to do (brush teeth, change, clean up their rooms, eat and clean up after themselves, etc.), they did... without complaining! it was amazing! Ryan even flushed the toilet after doing his business --- you KNOW how rare that is! i kept waiting for someone to flip out but it didn't happen.
i brought the kiddos with me to Stacie's Stampin' Up party. of course, Ryan didn't even know i existed when we got there. he had a lot of fun playing with JR and Jamie. Kiana and Kaili watched a movie with Jared (Stephanie's baby boy). everyone was chill and happy while i participated in the demonstration (and made some REALLY cute cards!). i had a blast hanging out with Lori, Elba and Jen... i love Stacie's aunts, too... Selena and Mo sat at our table. they were really cool.
after the meltdown, we went home... since then, the kids have been total angels... hello! what happened to my kids??? not complaining... just shocked out of my skull! seriously!
they ate dinner, were totally polite and asked to be excused from the table (HUH? i always have to beg them to sit still and ask to be excused... they just did it without being told!). they cleaned up after themselves. Ryan cleaned the table (wiped it down and even threw away crumbs in the trash can). Kaili helped me empty the dishwasher (her usual silverware and sippy cups). Kiana swept the floor. i tell ya, it was friggin' Twilight Zone! i loved it!
bathtime was a little out of control, but in a good way... everyone was happy and playful but really loud. that irked me a bit but not in a bad way. they all changed their clothes and brushed their teeth. even kept their laundry before going to bed. it was sooooo weird!
now they're all snoozing... and i'm still taken aback by what a great group they were today...
of course, now i'll be on guard all day tomorrow at Mikaela's baptism... waiting for them to snap out of it and go back to being "normal." hee hee hee...
praying that this is just the start of good things to come with the trio... i always hear that it will be easier when they're older... i certainly hope so!!!
