THE FAIRFIELD INN
we arrived at the Fairfield Inn (on South Harbor Road) at around 130am --- the security people had to let me into the lobby because the door was shut. it was neat being the only guests at the time. there was this Samoan girl behind the desk who was from EPA. LOL!!! we had fun talking about it. the funniest thing was that the caucasian chick working there had no idea what we were talking about. she didn't realize that EPA and Palo Alto were different places. um... yeah, Stanford University is definitely not part of EPA. LOL! the hotel had an awesome location! directly across the street from the main gate. we'll definitely stay there again!
there was a funky adjoining door in our room. with the craziest draft coming from the other side. and there was the most awful draft! aside from that, the room was perfect for us - we all had enough room, there was a fridge in the room, it was walking distance --- coolie!
DISNEYLAND... HERE WE COME!
every day, we spent time at both parks... the highlights of the trip were Small World, Star Tours, Astro Blast (Buzz Lightyear), watching the Aladdin Show (which the kids loved even more this time around), the Street Party and Fantasmic. the kids loved the merry-go-round and character breakfast, too. but what i think the kids loved most of all this trip - well, aside from spending time with their best buddies - was seeing the Electric Parade live and in person. all these years, they'd watched the video of the final performance of the Main Street Electric Parade and wondered why they never saw it. seeing the looks of excitement and awe in seeing the parade and knowing it inside and out was probably my favorite memory of the whole trip.
*sigh* can't wait until our next trip to the Happiest Place on Earth... not sure when that will be since we may do Legoland and Sea World or the San Diego Wild Animal Park next year with the GrandKwongs.
