*Grease 2 fans... is "Back to School" in your head, too???*
Kaili started her Pre-K school year on Monday, August 27th. Mommy got her ready for school and Daddy brought her there. Daddy has pictures from school but he keeps forgetting his camera at work. :) Kaili's teacher is Ms. Audrey (yes, the same teacher Ry and Kiana had for Pre-K). She got to spend her first day with a familiar friend (Kia's classmate, Jillian) and a new one (Alicia). :) She also made friends with a little boy named Eric... and remembered Quincy from Ms. Carla's class last year.
Today, August 29th, Ryan began his 2nd grade experience by getting up super early and actually being READY way ahead of schedule. He sat in front of the front door from 7:30-7:40am waiting for Daddy to be ready to drop him off. :) Hope this is a pattern with him! Daddy joked that morning that he couldn't find Ryan because he was dressed in camoflauge. Later that day, Mr. Mattos (the principal) said the same thing to him... Ry thought that was neat. He has Mrs. McGraw this year. Only one friend from last year is in his class this year - Megan.
For Kiana, it was a whole day of anticipation. From the time we dropped Kaili off at school (9am) until right before she was dropped off, she was begging to go to school - she couldn't wait to get there. When we arrived at Room 105 and met her teacher, Mrs. Sprenkel, Kiana's tone changed. "Mommy, where are my friends?" (with a look of panic in her eyes) "They're at their own schools, Kia..." I replied to her... at that point she told me, "then I don't want to be here!" From there the tears started flowing. She wanted to share this experience with Aniya, Lynsey, Isabelle and Jillian. She cried when I left her. Thankfully, and as expected, she was fine 5 minutes after I left. She made a few new friends and had fun with her teacher and classmates. She can't wait to go back tomorrow!
