1... 2.... 3... 4... (an afternoon with...) Hi-5!

- after 2 years of patiently waiting, we got to see the gang again!  :)  Hi-5 was playing at the San Mateo County Fair.  free shows with fair admission... a great oppotunity to see the gang again for the $6 it took to get into the fair!  (kids were free!)   i would've loved to see the full show but we take what we can get...  :)   It was me, Ry, Kiana, Kaili, Lena, Lachey, Angela and Anthony...

A BIG THANK YOU to Len, Lachey, Ang and Anth for taking such good care of the kids while i was running around "working" and for being patient with us while we were backstage.  you guys were awesome - i know it wasn't easy with all that downtime... i appreciate you...

- before the 4:30pm, i spent a good 1.5 hours "working the crowd" - meeting families, getting their support to "Keep American Hi-5 Alive" and passing out dvds, stickers, posters, business cards, etc.   everyone had questions about the show, the cast, Karla & Shaun, etc.  it was really fun to meet all those people.  i hope to see some of them online.  :)
- between the first and second shows, we went back to see the gang.  there was pretty much no one back there besides a few family members, John, Nick, Jenn, Kimee and Curtis - we were back there for about 20 minutes just chatting while the gang "enjoyed" their salad, meatloaf, potatoes and lots fruit and veggies... Kimee giggled when she saw this big fat pile of celery... she said she'd never seen so much celery in her life - there really was an unusual amount of celery on the table... i was really careful about not invading their private time but they didn't seem to care that we were there... everytime i motioned the kids and my sister to leave, we ended up sticking around and chatting for a few more minutes.
- didn't get to spend much time with Yasmeen or Sydney.  Yasmeen had her preschool aged cousins with her (soooooooooo cute!) and Sydney was engrossed in a book while laying down in the trailer.  I did give Yasmeen a hug and told her how excited we were to meet her... I didn't want to bug her but Curtis told me she didn't care if we bugged her and shouted out a big, "YASMEEN!" and introduced her to us.  :)  Curtis also got Sydney to come out for a quick sec to say "hi" to my kids - he gave them (and me) Hi-5s and went back to his book.
- the girls are all absolutely gorgeous... you can tell that they work out and take care of themselves!!!  they're even more tiny (and looking more fit) than last time we saw them... way to go, girls!  you inspire me!
- John is such a cutie pie...  he and Kimee are so cute!  i hope to see him play next time he's in the Bay Area... last time, i didn't get to go because of babysitting issues... :(
- Nick was very professional.  he was like a bouncer at a swanky club - you know, the guy who stands and deals with the people in the crowd who beg to get in then gives the nod or points to those he'll grant access to...?    that's what it felt like near the gate to the backstage area... luckily, Nick knew who we were so we got to go back... :)  the kids were so excited... (so was i!)
- Kimee, Jenn and Curtis must've been reading up in their mental (or not?) rolodexes --- they knew so much about me and the kids!  i enjoyed that  they knew so much and that they were so loving and welcoming... it was like being reunited with family we hadn't seen in ages.  we were all very comfortable and relatively informal with each other which was fabulous.  it made the experience so much more fun and definitely something i will always carry in my heart.  they were wonderful with the kids.  Kia and K are still talking about how much they love Jenn and Auntee Kimee.  Ry thought Curtis was the coolest and i think he may have a crush on Yasmeen.  :)  (LOL - my sister was distracted by how handsome Syd is.  yo Bonnie... stacked n' packed - hell yeah!   :))
- Curtis was a pleasure to hang out with.  i love that he loves "his Jenn" so much - made me appreciate him even more!
- and Jenn's Tom has to be the most talented guy!  wish he was there!
- Ry ran up and hugged Kimee, Jenn and Curtis a few times - he was definitely at ease with them ---  he event tapped Yasmeen like crazy then gave her a hug - she was great with him... wish we could've gotten pics with her... she was busy with her family so i didn't push for a picture...

Here are some of my fave pics...
