Dr. Hogue just called... she had the results for Kiana's bone age scan. it showed that she's on target... her bones match a child that is 4 years 2 months - she's 4 years 6 months. As long as it is within 8 months, they don't worry.
Since she doesn't appear to be a late bloomer (because her age scan was on target), Dr. Hogue wants to have some bloodwork done on Kiana to make sure she's developing normally. She needs to have a CBC and chem panel done. (LOL! made me think of ER or Grey's Anatomy - they always order those tests!) The tests will be one poke filling 3 tubes of blood. They will be testing her metabolic rate, growth hormones and her thyroid.
Dr. Hogue is sending me the forms - I should have them by Thursday. I'll probably have to take her in on Friday or Monday.
Hopefully, Kia will be as good with her blood test as she was with her 2 shots last week. The good thing is that this bloodwork can be used for the blood workup she needs for kindergarten...
