all of Kia's blood tests were normal... well, with the exception of a little high blood sugar but that was my fault, we waited so long that i gave her a juice box so she didn't pass out. oops! now we have to have her finger poked in 2 weeks to prove that it was a fluke and she isn't borderline diabetic. damn... i should've thought about that before i gave it to her. oh well...
back to the blood tests. Dr. Hogue said that her hormone levels, metabolic rate and all of the other tests came out fine. but because she's so tiny and it isn't explained (HELLO GENETICS! MOM & DAD ARE NOT TALL!!!), she wants to send Kiana to see a pediatric endocrinologist at Lucile Packard ... just to make sure that there isn't anything more going on with Kia aside from her genetics. I'm happy that her doctor is proactive but at the same time, I am a little frustrated that we have to put her through so many tests just to prove that she's a petite little girl - I'm only 5' tall... my sister is 4'11" --- on my Dad's side, my grandpa was about 5' tall and grandma is 4'10" I'll keep you posted if there is anything to report.

to add to this office visit... the reason we were at the doctor's office that night wasn't just to see Dr. Hogue. it was coincidental that we were heading over to the office after CCD so that Ry and K could get their flu shots... we ended up seeing Dr. H for a while before we even got called to register!
Kaili is badass... she just sat there - still as can be as she watched Miss Tish give her the flu shot.
Ryan... um... yeah... not so easy... he cried from the moment he had to walk over to sit on my lap... Miss Tish hadn't even gotten the cotton ball on his skin (with the alcohol - to sterilize the area) before he started flipping out. fortunately, he remembered that Dr. Hogue said it was ok to cry a little but screaming and flailing about were not ok. he got his lollipop then bragged happily to half the world that he got his flu shot. ugh! i need to call Dr. Trinh again to see if i can have my shot. i'm on the list but they haven't called to let me know about clinics yet...
