We spent the day in Mommy's hospital room... we watched movies (Ryan LOVES the SpongeBob Movie - and thought the "Hoff" was cool which made Mommy very happy! LOL!) and played games. We also ate a whole lot... especially Kaili who managed to eat a roast beef sandwich, lots of Chex mix, chocolate pudding, gummi bears, carrots, ribs and broccoli... that in addition to Goldfish and Doritos and whatever else was in the bag that Daddy brought.
The party for the kids was held in the Forever Young room on the 3rd floor of the hospital. Yesterday, all of the kids made masks for the party but only Kaili had brought hers back. Here she is in the elevator on the way up to the party... cutie patootie, 'eh?
The party was hosted by the Recreation department. They had games, food and fun for the patients as well as the siblings... our kids fit into the "children of patients" category - there aren't many of those!
Ry made a simpler mask for the party... His green one is in the blog from yesterday... :)
The kids and grown-ups enjoyed a NYE game of pictionary... Daddy drew a party hat, Ry drew (yikes! let me ask him)...
and Kaili drew confetti --- or as she called it "tiny pieces of paper that you throw"
They had such a fun time...
After snacking on monkey bread, the kids counted down to 8pm... waiting for the ball to drop - just like in Times Square (ok... only this ball was aluminum)... :)
Kiana had been hanging out in the room with Mommy - we were waiting for Anesthesia to come put in another IV for Mommy. (Sadly, 2 Antepartum nurses before that could not get the line in... finally, they recruited an L&D nurse who got it in...) Kia and Mommy played on PBS Kids, talked (a lot!) and had nice quiet one-on-one time...
When Daddy and the kids returned, we had our own party... Ry and Kaili had made horns for us to blow at the stroke of... 9pm... :)
