Kia broke her arm (actually, her wrist!)...

UPDATE: Here's the patient with her new full arm cast --- I'll take a picture of the full cast later when we take off the sling... she's not at all happy that she won't get to play on the monkey bars for a few weeks... but she's got a good attitude knowing that she needs the cast in order for her arm to heal. She will have the full cast for 2 weeks then they'll replace it with a short cast for 4 weeks...

send the bad mommy award this way... i was doing laundry yesterday while the girls were in the backyard playing... Kia fell off a short stepladder (one of those ones with 3 steps total) and landed on her hand wrong... she ended up fracturing her wrist (which doc says is pretty much considered "broken"). the ER doc splinted her up... taking her to the ped this morning. so... she has missed the 2nd day of school. she's so sad!

i'll write more when we get back from the ped!
