Ry completed his first ever Pinewood Derby on Friday night... Cub scout troops from the Tri-City were represented so it was officially called the "Tri-City Rumble." We were all so proud of him!!! He placed 3rd in the Tiger division!!! WHOOOO HOOOOO!!! Ry's buddy, Ben, placed 1st in their division and 4th overall. :) Ry and his "Lego Car" (yeah, really original name!) also won two sportsmanship awards. He got "Best Imagination" and "Best of Show." Pack #263 from Eastin (Ry's pack) rocked the rumble... they won the most placements and awards of all the groups there! Way to go!"Lego Car" was a combined effort by the Kwong Men. (Big kudos to Papa Sherwood for making it actually happen!) Ry envisioned the look for his car (yes, he still wants to be an architect or engineer and "design" how things are built) - from the shape and color of the car right down to the Lego details. Stan worked on aerodynamics as well as design - he and Papa worked tirelessly to make sure the car didn't just look good, but that it could also perform. Sherwood made the everything come together from routing the car to spending lots of time dealing with those tiny wheels and axles.
