Happy Stannie-versary to me & *he*

8 years ago today (2.20.99), Stanton & I tied the knot... :) *sigh* what a fabulous day that was... some of my memories of that day... (and you all know we have these funky little tidbits that make our wedding days so unique...)

in no particular order...
* getting dressed so quickly that my girls were bummed they didn't get to help me into my dress...
* fixing my flower girls' hair
* Mike Izumi taping me singing to Stan for our video (i sang a snippet of "From This Moment On..." before i babbled about how excited i was)
* my cutie pie photographer, Vince Tarry! :) Stan and I both agreed that he was adorable! hee hee hee!
* Stan calling me in a panic to let me know that the wedding ahead of ours was STILL going on while our guests were arriving... (i remained my usual calm self --- too bad i am a spaz when there isn't a "situation" to deal with)
* Sherwood and his big rainbow umbrella helping me get from the limo to the church...
* feeling the breeze on my shoulder as i walked down the aisle (i walked alone) --- it was like Daddy was there... i couldn't stop bawling as i walked. it was hillarious... people were calling out to me, "annie... are you ok?" or "annie... need tissue?" by the time i got to Stan, there wasn't a dry eye in the house...
* Fr. V's VERY long speech... though heartfelt... was still LONG!
* me putting the ring on the WRONG hand! (and Mike getting it on tape --- including our whole conversation with me & Stan laughing hysterically trying to get the ring off - note: Stan was mic'd for the video... hahahahahaha)
* Chuck's sweet "Best Man" speech about Stan thinking the carousel was "too fast" as a metaphor for it taking 8 years of being a couple to get married...
* all those awesome serenades from our guests to get us to smooch --- we didn't allow them to ting glasses or ring the bells we gave them... in order to get us to kiss, each table had to come up and serenade us with a song that contained the word "love" :) we never got to eat dinner there were so many serenades!
* our wedding coordinator at the hotel screwing up the table arrangements - and my poor mom ending up not at the table in front of us... (Stan ripped her a new one for that!)
* my "Valentine" serenade for Stan
* the Alpha Phis serenading me to their version of "Don't Want to Miss a Thing"
* deciding not to do our choreographed routine to Frank Sinatra's "The Way You Look Tonight" --- and dancing to our song "Love Makes Things Happen" instead...
* Tony & Jose fighting for the garter... lol - and Jose's lunge to the ground... who would've thought he'd be so acrobatic?
* Bill Anderson kissing not just me on the lips... but Stan, too!
* having our Delta Sigs and Alpha Phis there... *sigh*
* the cake fight... we'd agreed that it was fine to smash cake in each other's faces as long as it didn't get on my dress or in my hair... he honored that... but man, was i a mess with all that cake all over my face! :)
* looking out at our 420 guests (yes, we had 420!) and realizing that all the people we loved were in one room... and they were there because they loved us, too! *sigh*
* lots of champagne on an empty stomach... and puking numerous times during the reception (after everything i needed to see happen... happened... :))
* having our bridal party "shake their groove thing" for their dance... what a blast!!!
* heading up to our suite at the end of the night with my girls (before the reception was over) and us all chillin' while Stan shut the party down... it was the LONGEST day! but it was one of the bestest days of my life...

* almost passing out opening all those gifts the next day - there were a lot of gifts to open... it took 4 hours --- and we were both opening gifts on opposite sides of the room simultaneously! GAH!
* going "home" after opening gifts to my new address - and my new roommates! (Stan and I lived with Jim, Alex and Dave for a while after we got married... :))
