it looks like a skeleton, Mommy... it *is* a skeleton, Kia! yours!

Kiana went in for her 6 month growth check last Friday. Dr. Hogue was concerned because Kiana lost 2 oz. (she's 30lbs 6oz) and only grew 1/4" (she's 3'1"). she's in the 3rd percentile for both which is not good news. Dr. Hogue asked that we have a bone age scan done for her (basically an x-ray).

we went to Pacific Imaging today for her x-ray. Kiana thought the x-ray appointment was the coolest thing ever. the tech had her sit on a chair with a pillow on it. i put a shield on her lap - she thought it was a funny skirt. the tech had her place her hands on the x-ray background thingy --- so she did... i went around the corner with the tech and watched Kiana as the x-ray was done. she was giggling when she saw the camera come down to take her picture. i asked her to sit still. she did --- but she grinned the whole time. the picture was taken and we were asked to wait outside while they made sure the x-ray was good. the tech (Susan) let her see it. Kiana says to me, "it looks like a skeleton, Mommy..." to which i replied, "it *is* a skeleton, Kia! yours!" wide-eyed she saids, "oooooh! those are my bones... cool!"

guess there were other people in the office listening because as we were leaving they all told me how cute she was... and how smart... hahahahaha!

gotta love that we Kwong women leave a lasting impression on people... for stating the obvious! :)
