i have a cub scout!

one thing that i always wished i could've done as a child was be a girl scout... now i have a full-fledged boy scout in my family! Ryan didn't like it very much the first meeting but i think that some of that may have been because the first meeting may have been a little dry (according to Stan) and because Stan wasn't too excited about the prospect of having a boy scout in the house... not sure why. i always think of Kuya Danny when i think of boy scouts... and he's such a great person to associate with the organization. when i found out that Ry and Stan had completed the paperwork, i jumped at the chance to have Ry check it out again... and he loved it!

the first week, Ry met Mr. Singer (Bob) and his son, Eli. we also hung out with Consuelo and Ben. Ry made a scrapbook and earned his first orange bead.

the second session, Ry got to do leaf rubbing which he thought was a blast.

this next session, the boys will be learning about the food pyramid.

he even got to earn his pumpkin carving badge last weekend at Perry's Pumpkin Patch. Stan took him to a big event where a bunch of tiger cubs from the Tri-City area got together for this one big event. it was cool.

because we started into the program late, we missed some of the activities the boys had done the first few weeks so we're going to be catching up when we can. so far, he missed the Trail Trek (we had John & Jen's wedding that day) and the fire truck painting at Lowe's (we had Jerrod's birthday party). i'm going to take him to the library this week and we're going to make a map of the neighborhood. should be fun!

if you've been involved with boy scouts, i'd love to hear from you!
